In 2022, I started my own book series entitled Children’s Rights in Practice. As the name suggests, the aim of the series is to translate the rights and principles put forward by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child into concrete actions that professionals and organisations can apply in different settings. The books are small and written in an accessible language. They are available to buy in digital and print formats.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child is a true milestone in the history of children. Today, its principles are part of the legislation of most countries in the world and continue to influence regulations and practices. However, the Convention still remains an abstract text for those who work closely with children, including in healthcare. This book aims to fill that gap by introducing children’s rights in healthcare practice to paediatric, general medicine and nursing students and other healthcare professionals who are interested.

Porém, a Convenção ainda permanece um texto abstrato para aqueles que trabalham de perto com crianças, incluindo nos cuidados de saúde. Este livro pretende colmatar essa lacuna, introduzindo os direitos das crianças na prática dos cuidados de saúde a estudantes de pediatria, medicina geral e enfermagem e a outros profissionais de saúde que tenham interesse.
