Dia Internacional da Mulher n\u00e3o poder\u00edamos ter escolhido melhor livro para discutirmos no Clube de Leitura que \u201cO Acontecimento\u201d da Annie Ernaux. A dada altura, uma de n\u00f3s at\u00e9 disse, que est\u00e1vamos mais a discutir o assunto do livro e n\u00e3o o livro em si como obra liter\u00e1ria. De facto, no livro de Annie Ernaux, vivemos na pele, do in\u00edcio ao fim, esse acontecimento que marcou a sua vida enquanto jovem universit\u00e1ria: um aborto. E n\u00e3o numa altura qualquer, um aborto clandestino no in\u00edcio dos anos 60 quando em Fran\u00e7a, e nos restantes pa\u00edses europeus, o aborto era ilegal. Em \u201cO Acontecimento\u201d, Annie Ernaux faz-nos viver na pele a sua ang\u00fastia a partir do momento em que decide abortar. H\u00e1 uma falta de solidariedade generalizada, tanto por parte das pessoas pr\u00f3ximas como dos profissionais de sa\u00fade, h\u00e1 um desespero na procura de uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o porque todas as portas poss\u00edveis est\u00e3o fechadas e uma solid\u00e3o desesperante. E essa solid\u00e3o \u00e9 uma solid\u00e3o feminina. O homem envolvido n\u00e3o apenas n\u00e3o se preocupa com a situa\u00e7\u00e3o, como n\u00e3o a procura ajudar de forma alguma. E o mesmo pode ser dito sobre os profissionais de sa\u00fade que, na altura \u00e9 certo, poderiam ser punidos com pena de pris\u00e3o e interdi\u00e7\u00e3o de voltar a exercer medicina. O livro inclui um excerto sobre as penas aplicadas na altura: eram punidos todos os profissionais de sa\u00fade envolvidos, incluindo farmac\u00eauticos, e a mulher, mas o homem n\u00e3o era mencionado na lei.<\/p><p>Mas a hist\u00f3ria de Annie Ernaux continua atual. Como discutimos no grupo hoje, apesar da legaliza\u00e7\u00e3o do aborto em muitos pa\u00edses na Europa, a decis\u00e3o e o procedimento de interromper uma gravidez continua a ser dif\u00edcil para as mulheres. Num artigo de 2023 do Di\u00e1rio de Not\u00edcias, Fernanda C\u00e2ncio denunciava as dificuldades em termos do acesso ao aborto, o que constitui uma viola\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o apenas desse direito, mas tamb\u00e9m do direito \u00e0 sa\u00fade. Por vezes, a viola\u00e7\u00e3o de um direito \u00e9 estrutural, mas n\u00e3o deixa de ser uma viola\u00e7\u00e3o. Por exemplo, quando o sistema de sa\u00fade \u00e9 ineficaz, o resultado \u00e9 o de uma viola\u00e7\u00e3o de um direito. Quando um profissional tenta atrasar um processo para que, no final, a mulher n\u00e3o proceda ao aborto, isso \u00e9 uma viola\u00e7\u00e3o de um direito. No mesmo artigo, informava-se que \u201cNuma situa\u00e7\u00e3o id\u00eantica \u00e0 portuguesa, a It\u00e1lia, onde 35% dos hospitais n\u00e3o fazem interrup\u00e7\u00e3o de gravidez (em Portugal s\u00e3o 30%), (tinha sido) condenada pelo Comit\u00e9 Europeu dos Direitos Sociais por viola\u00e7\u00e3o do direito de acesso \u00e0 sa\u00fade e discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o.\u201d Ou seja, o aborto foi legalizado h\u00e1 v\u00e1rias \u00e9pocas, mas a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o desse direito ainda \u00e9 condicional e desigual. Portanto, em Portugal (e noutros pa\u00edses europeus) o direito das mulheres ao aborto n\u00e3o \u00e9 um direito cumprido.<\/p><p>A mulher carrega as culpas da humanidade. A culpa do homem \u00e9 inexistente, ainda hoje.<\/p><p>\u00c9 f\u00e1cil denunciar a situa\u00e7\u00e3o das meninas e mulheres no Afeganist\u00e3o. \u00c9 f\u00e1cil assinalar que em pa\u00edses europeus, como na Pol\u00f3nia, continua a ser ilegal abortar. Mas, a verdade crua \u00e9 que, na maioria dos pa\u00edses, a mulher n\u00e3o tem o mesmo estatuto que o homem na sociedade. Com algumas exce\u00e7\u00f5es, a mulher, at\u00e9 nas sociedades consideradas mais avan\u00e7adas, continua a ser alvo de discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o estrutural e cultural. At\u00e9 nos nossos pa\u00edses, as meninas e mulheres continuam a viver situa\u00e7\u00f5es absolutamente inaceit\u00e1veis; e n\u00e3o h\u00e1 um verdadeiro debate p\u00fablico sobre esta discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o sistem\u00e1tica e permanente.<\/p><p>Partilh\u00e1mos tantos exemplos no pouco tempo que fal\u00e1mos hoje. Exemplos que cada uma de n\u00f3s tinha vivido: a discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o numa entrevista de trabalho, o ass\u00e9dio sexual no trabalho e por parte dos professores no ensino, esse medo com que as mulheres vivem quando se encontram \u00e0 noite a caminhar sozinhas ou o receio de quando t\u00eam um homem desconhecido em casa a tratar da canaliza\u00e7\u00e3o ou da instala\u00e7\u00e3o do que quer que seja. O medo das mulheres n\u00e3o \u00e9 exagerado, cada uma de n\u00f3s tem uma hist\u00f3ria para contar. O que \u00e9 question\u00e1vel \u00e9 que ainda sejamos cidad\u00e3s de segunda classe. Ou como escreveu Annie Ernaux:<\/p><p>\u201c(...) era imposs\u00edvel determinar se o aborto era proibido porque era errado, ou se era errado porque era proibido. Julg\u00e1vamos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 lei, n\u00e3o a lei.\u201d<\/p><p>Quem diz a lei, diz os h\u00e1bitos culturais. \u00c9 preciso denunciar, questionar, refletir e dialogar sobre h\u00e1bitos de discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e3o enraizados que nos esquecemos deles.<\/p><p>E \u00e9 preciso falarmos mais sobre o papel da mulher na sociedade. Esta semana, pela morte do Ant\u00f3nio Lobo Antunes, li numa das suas entrevistas, ele dizer que quando algu\u00e9m est\u00e1 doente ou \u00e0 beira da morte, \u00e9 pela m\u00e3e que chama. A mulher carrega literalmente a vida dentro de si e, s\u00f3 por isso, a mulher sente e vive emo\u00e7\u00f5es e sentimentos que ao homem s\u00e3o dif\u00edceis de experienciar. Eu estou circundada de mulheres absolutamente extraordin\u00e1rias, amigas, m\u00e3es, fabricantes de sonhos, cuidadoras. S\u00e3o as mulheres que criam, d\u00e3o \u00e0 luz e que continuam a cuidar de todas as crian\u00e7as, em casa, no sistema de ensino e no social. A humanidade tem que se abrir ao acolher as diferen\u00e7as entre homens e mulheres. Temos que (co-)construir uma sociedade verdadeiramente partilhada, tentarmos aprender uns com os outros, como se faz em casal, ou entre pais e filhos. E temos que come\u00e7ar por admitir as incoer\u00eancias da sociedade, as discrimina\u00e7\u00f5es e as injusti\u00e7as que as mulheres sofrem ainda hoje.
